Dinners

Eight restaurants around Sydney will be hosting a Whisky Live Dinner each during the first part of the week. Diners will experience a specially created menu with food matched to whisky, in the form of a six-course degustation meal. The restaurant’s chef will design six dishes to match six whiskies being showcased. Whisky lovers and food lovers alike will be in for a treat. Some dinners are themed, for example, the Scotch Whisky, Japanese Whisky, Irish Whiskey and Australian Whisky Dinners. Other dinners will have a selected mix of whiskies.

Tasting Expo

On Friday evening 4th, the Opening of Sydney’s Whisky Live Expo will take place. Through Saturday and Sunday it will continue to showcase some of the world’s great whiskies for all to taste and enjoy, right along side beautiful Sydney Harbour. The venue is Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal, looking just 500m across Sydney Cove to the Sydney Opera House - one of the world’s best views to enjoy with a whisky.

On tasting will be most of the great whisky names that have been ogled in shop showcases, plus some exciting new brands. The Expo gives the opportunity to taste fabulous whiskies and talk to the experts, and discovering what makes each whisky so unique. The large range of whiskies on show will have every attendee wondering which to taste next - there’s bound to be more than enough to satisfy every whisky lover’s preference.

Inside the Expo is The VIP Lounge, exclusive to VIP ticket holders. This comfortable area, sectioned off from the main event, features a private section of the harbourside balcony, with magnificent view. Inside the lounge are a number of rare and sought after whiskies for VIP ticket holders to sample. There’s a selection of fine food prepared by the Lounge chef to be enjoyed with the private tastings of the rare and exclusive whiskies.

Diagonally opposite is a Wilson Car Park for those attendees not consuming. We do not encourage Masterclass attendees to drive afterwards unless they have been spitting.

Public transport – train to Central or Town Hall and walk down to Goulburn Street, or catch a bus. Buses along Elizabeth or George Street – alight at the corner of Goulburn Street and walk one or two short blocks.

Dinners will be at different restaurants around Sydney. A Taxi or would be best as alcohol will be consumed and arrival time should be prompt.

Tasting Expo is at Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour. Public transport is the best way to arrive as parking in The Rocks is limited and timed. Arrive by bus, taxi, ferry or train.

Most bus routes terminate at Circular Quay or Millers Point travelling via Circular Quay. Circular Quay train station, on the city circle line is just 100m away, or take a stroll from Wynyard station, just 800m down George street towards The Rocks. Catch a ferry to Circular Quay from the north side and walk 100m around to the Terminal.
